      Hi! Welcome to Alpha Phi Recruitment! My name is Danner and I am so excited to be the Vice President of Membership Recruitment for the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I speak not only for myself, but for all of the lovely ladies at 508 East Armory when I say, we are ecstatic to open up our doors to you and share a glimpse into how amazing the life with sisters as great as this can be. U of I formal recruitment is one of the most anticipated events of the year of campus, especially for Alpha Phi. We work hard all year to prepare for your arrival, in hopes that you’ll fall as in love with this sisterhood as we did. Recruitment is special to us because it allows us the opportunity to welcome new members that we believe encompass the values that each of our active members hold dearly as an Alpha Phi. As the spokesperson for Alpha Phi Recruitment, I truly encourage each of you to experience the recruitment process, even if you are hesitant about Greek life. I promise you the recruitment process at the University of Illinois is a second-to-none experience that will you present you with the opportunity to meet hundreds of amazing young women across campus.

      Speaking from experience, I understand how intimidating the process of formal recruitment can be. However, since finding my home in Alpha Phi, words cannot express how much my life has changed. I have met incredible women who share common values, goals, and aspirations as myself. I always believed the saying “From the outside looking in you can’t understand it. From the inside looking out you can’t explain it” was cliché. But somewhere between the movie marathons, frozen yogurt dates, and late nights at the library, I found not only sisters for four years but best friends that will last me a lifetime. Alpha Phi not only helped me adjust to this university and community, but as allowed me to make a personal contribution and make a difference. I sincerely welcome each of you to join in the journey, and I am unbelievably excited to see you all during UIUC Formal Recruitment! I also welcome any alumni, family, or friends to explore our beautiful website, become familiar with our Recruitment process, and see what we have accomplished here at U of I. On behalf of the ladies of Alpha Phi, we greatly appreciate the support we receive from our alumni and advisors. Alpha Phi Recruitment would not be possible without your undying efforts to improve the future of this house and its members. I already know it is going to be another great year for the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi! We cannot wait to meet you in the Fall.
